Of course, when you select the kanji, the game tells you everything about it: The number of strokes, the stroke order, its on and kun readings, its definition, and it even gives you compound words.

This is a really good game for practicing kanji, and only kanji. I thought that along with kanji kakiitori-kun would help me kanjj my vocabulary and reading as well, but it isn’t doing so much on that front. It helps a little to read something that is purely Japanese, but actually reading Japanese books in your level would help more for that.

It has a dictionary but it’s in Japanese so I have to look up a lot of words to see what word is being defined. I play this game on the 3DS XL, and since this game was made for the DS, writing on a bigger screen taadshii kind of uncomfortable. It’s hard to write nice characters when they have to be 10 times bigger than a normal character on paper.

Still, the learning gets through, kaanji it’s okay.

I like it, it’s good review and the children’s dictionary included for each kanji is readable even tsdashii me! However, it gets glitchy with some of the kanji and the resolution isn’t great, even for a ds game. Hopefully they’ll make an improved version.

Awesome program to improve reading and writing ability. It assumes kkitori-kun learner is basically fluent in Japanese and there’s no English, so if you’re just starting out, this game might be too difficult for you it’s hard enough for me and I’m close to the N3 level, lol.
